Boil water advisory lifted for Délı̨nę, N.W.T.

A boil water advisory issued last week for Délı̨nę, N.W.T., has been lifted. In a news release on Tuesday, the territory's chief public health officer said that normal use of drinking water in the community can resume. The advisory was issued on Friday because health officials said water in the community had higher turbidity, or more mud in it than usual.

Alma struggling with critical water shortage, boil water advisory

A severe water shortage has prompted a boil water advisory in the village of Alma. In a news release, Mayor Andrew Casey said the water reservoir is at a critically low level, and the village on the edge of Fundy National Park is using its backup well. The village of recommended boiling water for one minute prior to consumption — including water used for mixing juice, dental hygiene, washing vegetables, making ice or any other activity requiring human consumption.

Water supply disruptions continue in Iqaluit, a major city in Canada’s far-north and Nunavut’s capital

Iqaluit, the capital of Canada’s vast far northern territory of Nunavut, lifted a city-wide boil water advisory March 4 that had been in place since the beginning of the month. In an earlier news release, authorities stated, “The City recommends that all water used for consumption and dental hygiene is brought to a rolling boil for a minimum of one full minute.”
