Canadian Teachers are Waiting to Educate Over 61,000 Canadian Students About Drinking Water Quality Issues and Solutions
Canadian teachers are currently waiting for the opportunity to educate over 61,000 Canadian students about drinking water quality issues and solutions. In order to be able to do this they will need over 1,700 sponsored Operation Water Drop, Operation Water Pollution and Operation Water Biology kits to be sent to their schools. Individuals and companies can sponsor kits for schools. If you/your company sponsors kits, you/your company will be acknowledged in the letter that accompanies the kit. You can even decide in which geographic area your kits will be dispersed or to which specific school(s). Please e-mail email@example.com if you would like to sponsor Operation Water Drop, Operation Water Pollution and/or Operation Water Biology kits or if you would like more information.

Many school divisions and districts from coast to coast are recommending the Safe Drinking Water Foundation's education programs to their teachers! Thank you to all of the administrators who are promoting our programs! Students from Eleanor W. Graham Middle School in Rexton New Brunswick wrote, performed and recorded a song about drinking water quality issues after using the Operation Water Drop kit in their classroom.
Water song written and recorded by Tiger Levi and Kyah Mattinson. Special thanks to Mr. Theriault, Mr. O'Toole and Mr. Duplisee. All images are copyright free. Thank you to Dakota Keating for several images in the water song movie.
Action Plan After using any of SDWF's educational programs be sure to encourage your students to take action to share what they learned with other and to alleviate drinking water quality issues. We are here to help!
Please note that for lessons five and six you will need a digital TDS and a digital pH meter. These digital meters are included in Operation Water Pollution kits which are available to be ordered or you can contact the Safe Drinking Water Foundation at 1-306-934-0389 or email@example.com to find out whether a sponsored Operation Water Pollution kit is available for your school!
Please remember to condition the pH meter before using it each time in your classroom by placing it in tap water, pH 7 buffer solution, pH 4 buffer solution, or KCL solution for at least 30 minutes before students use the meter. Also, please remember to calibrate the meter periodically.
Please note: We have removed the heterotrophic plate count test from the Elementary Operation Water Drop kits because of concerns elementary teachers had regarding agar in their classrooms. To replace this test we have added not one but two new tests into the Elementary Operation Water Drop kits, ammonia analysis and copper analysis. If anyone has any questions about these tests they can contact 306-934-0389 and/or firstname.lastname@example.org
